Measure around the fullest part, place the tape close under the arms and make sure the tape is flat across the back.

Great for women, too! I am normally a size 8/10 and ordered the men’s small. A friend who is much slimmer also wears a men’s small in these shorts. They have a sturdy but expandable, wide elastic sewn into the waistband along with a drawstring tie. Because they have a relaxed fit, they’re quite versatile in terms of sizing. The fabric is very soft and appears durable. Highly recommend.
