Industrial Hemp Farming Act: An Historic Opportunity!
On August 2nd, Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), along with original
cosponsors Senators Rand Paul (R-KY), Jeff Merkley (D-OR), and Bernie Sanders
(I-VT), introduced S. 3501, the Senate companion bill to H.R. 1831, the
Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2011. We now have an amazing opportunity!
This is an historic occasion as it is the first time a hemp bill has been
introduced in the Senate in more than a half a century.
We need you to write and call your U.S.
Senators today and ask them to become a cosponsor of Senator Wyden's
bill S. 3501, or thank them if they are already a cosponsor. This is a
different bill than the industrial hemp Farm Bill amendment. Even if you have
written to you Senators before, it's important that you do so again. Please write and call your

After Senator Wyden introduced his industrial hemp amendment
to the Farm Bill during Hemp History Week in June of this year, our supporters
sent over 17,500 emails to their Senators and made over 1,000 phone calls in
support the amendment! Now that the stand alone bill has been introduced it's
time to write and call again, even if you have done so before. Keep up the
great work you are making a difference!
