July 13, 2007I recently ordered a pair of hemp jeans from Dash Hemp. When I called to inquire about specifics Richard could not have been more helpful or more detailed about what I would be receiving. They were in my PO Box in record time. Having been a big fan of hemp the past 12-15 years or more I was very clear on what a special clothing material it is (not to mention it's myriad other highly durable and beneficial/ environmentally friendly uses.) With that history I knew they'd be something pretty fine. These jeans really exceeded my expectations. The chosen hemp fabrics weight, drape, coloring, styling and fit all nailed something one could only hope to find in having them custom tailored. I feel very fortunate to have discovered Dash Hemp. It's abundantly obvious that Richard really knows how to pull all the right elements together in offering an outstanding product. I fully expect to be equally thrilled with the two other hemp shirts I have pre-ordered when they they arrive. Thank you Richard. You really know how to please.

When we left the store in Santa Cruz last fall, we went south to Santa Barbara before coming home to Portland. It was unseasonably hot because of the Santa Ana winds, and I was astonished to discover how comfortable both my new Dash Hemp denims and my new drawstring pants were - it was 85 degrees in the evening, but I was fine in hemp clothes.This came to mind yesterday as I was out walking the dogs. I had on the same denims, which get more comfortable with every washing - something I did not think possible because they were as comfortable as expensive, worsted slacks to begin with. It was about 40 degrees, I live very near the Columbia River so there is always a breeze, I was wearing nothing under the denims, and yet I was perfectly warm.
I recalled what you said about hemp clothing having the capacity to both breathe and insulate, but the experience is worth, as they say, a thousand words.Portland is a blue jeans town, as people who come here to visit notice right away. You can go to the ballet here and there will be people in blue jeans - many of them. As a consequence, I wear mine every day, and I wash them frequently. I have noticed almost a complete lack of fabric fibers in the dryer filter since I began wearing Dash Hemp, which means to me that I will be wearing the ones I have on now for a long time to come.And they still look as good as the day I bought them.
